Books

Full Catastrophe Living, Jon Kabat-Zinn

A text that is heralded as life-changing by many, including myself.  This book is what got me off my butt from reading and starting to practice.  (Many of the MBSR teachers I know have a similar story to that as well! Something there. )

Considered to be the essence (in written form) of the 8-week MBSR program.

Everywhere You Go, There You Are,  Jon Kabat-Zinn

Another great text by the MBSR creator.

The Miracle of Mindfulness, Thich Nat Hanh

Recently passed, Thich Nat Hanh was a friend to MLK Jr. and considered to be one of the most important authors and teachers in mindfulness since the 1960s.

The Craving Mind, Dr. Judson Brewer

A great book on using mindfulness to hack into your habit patterns, by a thought leader in habit science, neuroscience, and mindfulness research.

Radical Acceptance, Tara Brach

This is a concept and set of teachings that I just love. Tara is a great teacher as well.

Comfortable with Uncertainty, Pema Chodron

A book filled with 108 lessons on what we could call “applied mindfulness”, or just wisdom for life. Can flip to any page and it will be evergreen wisdom for the day, week, or month of contemplation.
